My CrossFit journey began in 2019 when a few friends invited me to try a workout at a local affiliate. What started as simply giving something new a chance quickly became a place where I found structure, encouragement, and a community that helped me believe more was possible. Before CrossFit, I often felt unsure of what to do in the gym. Having knowledgeable coaches, a clear plan, and familiar faces in class gave me the confidence to keep showing up. Even after my career took us out of state, finding a new CrossFit affiliate felt like the natural next step.
Growing up, I wasn’t especially active outside of bowling, and I struggled with my weight for much of my life. By my late 30s, I weighed nearly 250 pounds, had very little muscle mass, and often woke up in pain. I knew I needed something to change. Living with autoimmune conditions, including Celiac disease, made the impact of an unhealthy lifestyle even more noticeable. In 2017, I began strength training consistently and quickly saw how powerful small, steady steps could be, including fewer flare-ups and feeling better overall. My fitness journey hasn’t been linear, but it has taught me that progress comes from consistency, patience, and the support of the people around you. The Kingman CrossFit community has shown me what’s possible when you keep showing up, and today I can confidently say there’s no turning back.
I’m motivated every day by remembering where my journey began and seeing how far I’ve come. CrossFit has helped me find balance physically and mentally, and that transformation is something I hope to help others experience in their own way. As a coach, I’m passionate about helping people become a little better every day. Whether someone is hitting a new PR, completing a first workout, improving their health, or simply choosing to show up again, every step forward matters. I love seeing our community come together in meaningful ways, whether in regular CrossFit or HYROX classes, while supporting local causes, at CrossFit competitions, during HYROX races, and so much more. Those moments remind me that fitness is about more than workouts; it’s about connection, effort, and supporting one another. Most importantly, I want every person who walks through our doors to feel welcomed, supported, and included. Community is at the heart of CrossFit, and I believe fitness truly is for everyone.
